Full job description 

Button Stance is an emerging luxury tailoring brand based in Aberdeen, specialising in bespoke suits for men and women with a focus on high-quality craftsmanship. We work to Savile Row standards and are meticulous about every detail in the garments we produce. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented freelance seamstress/finisher to work with our head cutter on a per-piece basis. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Finish a jacket (or/and trousers/waistcoat) according to detailed specifications and luxury standards. 

• Handle various fabrics, including delicate and high-end materials, i.e. silk, cashmere etc. 

• Make buttonholes by hand. 

• Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship with attention to detail, start to finish. 

• Ensure timely completion of pieces to meet production deadlines. 

 

Requirements: 

• Must be based in Aberdeen/Shire or able to travel into Aberdeen for pattern and materials exchange. 

• High standard of hand sewing and finishing techniques (fell stitch etc.) 

• Experience sewing with a silk thread. 

• Proven experience as a seamstress, tailor, finisher or dressmaker. 

• Must have their own workplace setup and necessary equipment to work from home. 

• Understanding of garment construction and embroidery skills while not required are desirable. 

• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and consistency. 

• Fluent English proficiency.
